Hypnotherapy Sessions

What’s a hypnotherapy session and what happens in them?

Stephanie Riseley, Trained by Brian Weiss MDOnce again — there’s nothing magical about hypnosis. It’s simply a state of focused concentration, very similar to meditation or prayer. You can’t “get stuck” in hypnosis, and no one can make you do anything you don’t want to do. Close your eyes now and imagine a juicy fresh lemon, then see, smell and taste that lemon as you cut it open in your mind’s eye and let the juice fill your mouth. Did your salivary glands produce saliva? Yes? Then you were hypnotized. See? It’s easy!

How long are the hypnotherapy sessions?

All my sessions are two hours long. I don’t want to rush my clients, and I don’t want to be rushed either.

In the first hour of the first session all I do is explain your brain to you from the perspective of the newest brain research. That way you can understand how your own brain functions and how you can change it.

If you come to see me for an anxiety problem, weight-loss, smoking or any kind of (OCD) obsessive compulsive disorder, I’ll help you understand how all the fear, frustration, and anger that you feel is because you’ve tried to change, and you’ve failed again, and again and again.

But it’s precisely because you’ve failed on your own, that it makes it impossible to change this “bad programming” by yourself. Once you understand that your brain has simply “programmed itself” into believing that you will fail again, you’ll feel an amazing sense of relief, because then you are ready to begin to re-program your own brain into succeeding. One of the qualities of successful people, is that when they can’t do something on their own, they admit it, and they they get professional help. I’m the professional. I know what it takes to achieve long lasting success.

Once we get clear about what you want to achieve, and you’re ready to change, you feel committed to your own health and happiness, I put special glasses on you, Theta Wave Inducers, (Mind-Brain glasses), and they put you into the Theta state (hypnosis). Then I put headphones on you, headphones on me, and I begin to record your Mp3.  There’s nothing magical about the sessions – you hear each and every word I say. The magic happens when you take the Mp3 home and begin to listen to it over and over again.

Then throughout the day, you will hear my voice asking you simple questions like, “Will this choice lead me in the direction of my goal, or will it not?” Over time, the Mp3 creates awareness. Mindfulness, and a willingness to keep your attention focused in The Now.  And because of that, you begin to literally reprogram your brain into achieving the goals that you’ve set for yourself.

It’s easy, effortless and effective. All it takes is a commitment from you to begin.  I’m a trained Life Coach, and I use all the latest techniques. I like to work in groups of 5 sessions — the newest brain research proves that it takes at least nine (9) months) to create new neuropathways in your brain.

In the second hypnotherapy session:

I use a Jungian technique to get you in touch with your own “sabotaging” selves — your own “inner children,” (or modules of your brain) and I make a Mp3 that will help you calm them down, nurture and love them so that they can begin to help you achieve the goals that you’ve set for your own life. Why let what you didn’t get as a child stop you from claiming your happiness as an adult?

In hypnotherapy session three:

I do a regression back to the source of any “resistance” to the goals you’ve set. Sometimes the resistance can be found in this lifetime, sometimes it can be found in another lifetime. But once you see the source of why you’re not happy, and why you’re not making your own life a priority, it gives you a different perspective and it gives you power to change. And it helps you to make a full out commitment to this lifetime.

In hypnotherapy sessions four and five:
We focus on specifics of what you need to tackle in your own life. Everyone’s journey is different, and yet very specific. Yours is too, and learning to trust the thrust of your own life, is what will give you the power to make yourself happy.
