In the corner of my living room sits an old wooden rocker that belonged to my great-grandmother, who was born in New York a few years after the end of the Civil War.
I remember her sitting in that rocker when I was five. Her huge blue eyes stared into my own blue eyes as she lifted my chin and smiled. I still remember the wisps of white curly hair poking out from her cap as we stared at one another. She died soon after that, and I went to her funeral.
But I know she died proud because she had been a suffragette. And for those who don’t know what that means, in her youth women weren’t allowed to vote. They couldn’t own property in most states or couldn’t open a bank account, to name a few things women couldn’t do because they were female. So even though she was a farmer’s wife, she marched, got spit on, got chased, and beaten just to get a woman’s right to vote. Women had to fight, but they got the right to vote in 1920 – almost 100 years ago.
Sometimes I’ll do a Past-Life Regression, and the life just witnessed is dull as dirt. Nothing happens because that past-life personality wasn’t brave and did nothing to be proud of. When I say, “Float above. What did you learn in that incarnation?” Usually, it’s, “Don’t waste your time on things that don’t matter!”
So in this incarnation, if you can figure out how your time on the planet can make a difference, begin it now! Don’t be afraid! Own your Courage! You have a purpose!
