Healing Your Inner Child

How Hypnotherapy, Awareness Therapy & Regression Therapy Heals Your Inner Child

Do you wonder why you can’t follow through on your big dreams? Or why do you keep picking the wrong lover? Maybe even feeling addicted to punishing relationships?

The answers might be found by accessing and healing your own Inner Child and becoming the loving, supportive parent you forgot to order from the get-go.

How? Cognitive Behavior Modification teaches to first “hear” your own inner-monologue, and begin to argue with it, then re-program your own sabotaging thoughts, beliefs and behaviors.

The deep dive into your own “Inner Child,” which I do in the second session, helps you access the recesses of your own subconscious mind and open to memories that might be buried there.

In the audio I make for clients, I ask simple questions. “What do you need to feel safe in the world? Completely accepted for who you are and who you are not?” “What are you afraid of?” “What are you ashamed of?” “Where did you make the faulty assumption that you were not good enough?” Those questions take lots of time to answer.

Childhood trauma causes chaos and sorrow in adulthood.

Using alternative techniques to help clients heal makes me happy because talking about your wounds doesn’t help. I should know because I had twelve years of talking therapy. And yes, it’s nice to have a lovely person mirror back to you how unfairly you were treated, but it doesn’t change your brain. On the contrary, it actually makes things worse because you keep getting traumatized.

So in the third session, the regression, I help clients re-frame their experience by using their imagination to change the neuropathways in their brain.

For instance, last week, a 50-year-old, beautiful client raised in Mid-Western poverty saw a moment when she and her three brothers huddled in a corner while her drunk, truck driver father beat her young, helpless mother bloody. Her mother then fled from the house to save her own life but left her children behind – abandoned.

I do “No Blame Therapy,” so I don’t demonize parents. Because my client is not new to therapy, this is a recurrent traumatic memory. To help her heal, I asked her to visualize what it would look like if she had a loving mother who had money and an education. “Become your own mother,” I said. “Take that little girl and ask her what she really wants to do.”

In hypnosis, I led her through a life filled with dance lessons, theatre, good schools, and finally getting a Ph.D. in neuroscience. That’s an Alternate Reality, and it made my client feel confident and happy. Using imagination to re-program brains is powerful and heals old childhood wounds.

If you want to see a good show on growing brains, head to Apple TV and watch a fantastic documentary called: “Becoming You.” You’ll see 100 babies from all over the world, filmed for five years, then edited into five episodes, and you can marvel at how you became you!

Hypnotherapy, Awareness Therapy, and Past Life Regression can help.
