How Hypnotherapy, Past Life Regression & Shadow Side Work Helps Heal

Lots of people say to me, “Wow!  You look great for your age.”

“Thanks,” is all I say.

But this is what I think:

“All it took was changing my habits of thinking, doing, and believing.”

For instance, I’ve eaten mostly organically for 50 years, I’ve had to stay out of the sun because I have Systemic Lupus, and I do yoga or walk every day.  Habits.

Shouldn’t that be easy for everyone?

No.

It’s not easy when your sabotaging “Shadow Side” has the control stick of your life!  Or when your angry Inner Teenager is in “Blame Therapy” (Talking Therapy) for 20 years.

Maybe your hungry Inner Three-Year-old is having another tantrum?  What can you do?

Get Awareness!  Hypnotherapy, Past Life Regression can help you get to the source of your issues.  Successful people get help.

I’ve been in the Alternate Health world since 1970 when I was lucky enough almost to die (NDE) and to live; I was forced by the gods (for real) to change.

I had to learn to take extreme care of my vehicle, this body.

Like many people my age, I grew up eating Frosted Flakes or Trix for breakfast, Mac & Cheese for lunch, and McDonald’s or Bob’s Big Boys (Yes! Right down Riverside Drive, in Toluca Lake).

How my body survived still amazes me.

In my 30s, I worked at UCLA’s Neuropsychiatric Institute for five years, ’82 to ’87, doing the research that would become the DSMIII- Revised.  At the time, it was the most extensive mental health research study ever done.  I worked as a “Conversionist,” which meant that when one of the “Specific Random Respondents” who we needed to complete the study refused to cooperate, it was my job to “convert them,” i.e., talk them into doing a three hour completely invasive interview.

I was good at that job because I learned not to take “No” for an answer.  My job was like Dr. Seuss’s “Green Eggs and Ham.” Would you like them on a boat?  In a moat?

I got used to asking questions like:

“How old were you when you had your first sexual experience?”

“Have you ever been sexually abused by a parent, relative, scoutmaster, minister, priest, or rabbi?”

“Have you ever had two weeks or more when …

… you had obsessive thoughts of harming yourself and others?

… felt depressed, despondent… etc.

… used cocaine, heroin, or alcohol…

If people answered, “yes,” I used a “probe flow chart” and a list of probing sometimes embarrassing questions.  That training at NPI made me extremely good at asking targeted questions that helped me understand where the source of a client’s trauma might be.

To help people heal themselves, I need to understand where the buried anger comes from and where it’s trapped in the body.

Then I teach them how to delete those sabotaging behaviors, habits, and beliefs like, “I’m not good enough because I’m a woman, gay, a bi, or Black. I’m not perfect.  On your showdown side, your subconscious always looks for someone to blame.

Welcome to being a human.  We all love to blame everyone else except our own brains.

I also did six years of Jungian Dream Analysis Training at UCLA, once again at the Neuropsychiatric Institute, and I worked with two darling Jungian psychoanalysis.

Carl Jung, Sigmund Freud’s disciple, believed that “Until you make the unconscious, conscious, it will rule your life, and you will call it Fate.”

Or as another nice Jewish guy said: “When you bring forth that which is within you, that which is within in will save you.  When you do not bring forth that which is within you will destroy you.” Attributed to Jesus, that nice Jewish guy.

“Shadow Side Therapy” seems to be the new hot thing now.  And I’m thrilled because it’s liberating.

In the second session with my clients, I use Jungian techniques to help clients deep dive, into the sea of their own subconscious mind. It’s hard work, and it takes time.

Because being honest with yourself isn’t always easy.  But it’s essential to understand the source of your pain.

Yesterday, when I was driving home from the dentist (People?  Please floss!), I got a call from a busy New York woman, and when I asked, “How old are you?” She got huffy and furious with me. “I never tell anyone my age.”

I said, “I do Warrior Goddess Training.  And if you’re ashamed of how old you are, then we’re not a good fit.”

She hung up on me, and truthfully?  I was relieved because she wasn’t Warrior Goddess material.  I need people who want to change.

So, if you’re ready for a deep dive into your own buried sabotaging beliefs, I’m happy to help.

Become a Warriors Goddess Mermaid!  Or Merman!
